For the first time in history, London's West End district has been decorated to celebrate the Ramadan. The famous district in the British capital has been adorned with lanterns and lights in the shape of crescents and stars, with the words "Happy Ramadan" erected on Coventry Street between Piccadilly and Leicester Square, to mark the beginning of the month.

The district is popular among tourists from the Gulf and a large part of the city's Muslim population, which accounts for about 15% of the local population, due to its world-renowned shopping opportunities, restaurants, and entertainment venues.

The number of visitors tends to increase during the Ramadan, which has earned it the nickname "Ramadan Rush".
